MTV’s decision to make the reality show, which first aired in 2014, more sexually inclusive only further highlights that a) audiences want to see their IRL experience reflected on shows that are *supposed* to be based in reality and b) that The Bachelor, Bachelorette and its spinoff franchises are waaay behind the times, and super heteronormative.
